Benedum Earns Career Best LOLMDS Finish in Winternationals

The 39th Annual Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Florida) continued on Friday night with a doubleheader for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS).

Friday night's $10,000-to-win program drew a field of forty-one entries to the oval, and struggles in qualifying positioned Mike starting deep in a heat race. Benedum continued to battle the handle on his entry and would ultimately fail to qualify for the 50-lap finale.

Later that evening, the conclusion for the $5,000-to-win program that was washed away by rain on Monday was held. A fifth place finish in his heat race earned Benedum the 20th starting position for the 25-lappper. Mike went on to register an eighteenth place finish in the final rundown.

The 39th Annual East Bay Winternationals drew to a close on Saturday night with the $10,000-to-win finale, and a strong field of thirty-five entries would fill the pit area. Mike posted the sixth quickest lap in qualifications, which locked him into the third starting spot for the fourth heat race. He went on to finish fourth, earning him the sixteenth starting position for the 50-lap feature. In the main event, Benedum charged forward to a sixth place finish behind race winner, Billy Moyer, Don O'Neal, Jonathan Davenport, Jimmy Owens and Jared Landers.
