Car Troubles for Benedum at Florence Speedway

Piloting the Sweet Bloomquist Car #1 Super Late Model, Mike Benedum headed to Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky) on Thursday night for the rescheduled Ralph Latham Memorial. Drawing 65 Super Late Models for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned program, Benedum failed to make it out for hot-laps due to car troubles. Getting ready to pull on the track for the practice session, Mike was forced to scratch from the rest of the night’s event after discovering a broken rocker arm.

On Friday night with two heat races to earn his shot into the Sunoco North/South 100 on Saturday, Benedum logged a 9th place outing in his first heat. Suffering more issues under the hood in his second heat, Mike packed up and withdrew from the rest of the weekend’s events.
