Benedum Lands Runner-up Finish at Tyler County Speedway

Running in the unsanctioned Bud Weigle Memorial, Mike Benedum headed to Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, West Virginia) on Saturday to compete in the J&R Excavating Super Late Models presented by Midcap Land and Timber. In a field of 18 cars, Mike landed a runner-up finish in the feature behind Sweet-Bloomquist Race Cars teammate Jared Hawkins with Steve Weigle, Keith Barbara, and Matt Cosner rounding out the top five.

Sunday night brought 21 Super Late Models to Brushcreek Motorsports Complex (Peebles, Ohio) for the Short Track Auto Racing Series (STARS) sanctioned event. Earning the 2nd-starting spot for the $3,000-to-win feature, Benedum fell back to a 12th place outing after making the wrong tire choice. (Tyler Carr Photo)
