Benedum Competes in Lucas Oil Action Over 4th of July Weekend

On Saturday night Mike Benedum kicked off his 4th of July weekend by traveling to Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned Independence 60. Placing 2nd in his 10-lap heat behind Rod Conley, Mike earned an 8th place starting spot for the $12,000-to-win A-Main. Slipping out of the top ten Benedum logged a 14th place outing.

The following night brought LOLMDS followers to Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio) for the Lumi-Lite Candle 60. Sending the top four out of the heats, Mike posted a 4th place finish edging his way into the feature. After getting spun-out early in the race, Benedum stormed through the field from the tail to pick up a solid 10th place finish in the 60-lapper.
