Top Five Finish for Benedum in Season Opener

Making his 2016 season debut, Mike Benedum hopped behind the wheel of a Sweet Bloomquist car with a Custom race engine at Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, West Virginia) for the Zimmer’s United Late Model Series sanctioned event. Drawing twenty-nine cars for the 27th Annual Earl Hill Memorial, Benedum followed up the second fastest qualifying time in his group with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Eddie Carrier Jr. After the redraw, Mike was slated to start the $5,080-to-win A-Main from the 8th place starting spot. Working his way into the top five, Mike Benedum landed a 4th place finish in his season debut behind Tim Dohm, Jared Hawkins, and Eddie Carrier Jr. with Kyle Thomas coming in 5th. (Zach Yost Photo)
