Benedum Attends Dirt Track World Championship at Charlotte

On Thursday evening Mike Benedum was one of 76 World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series entries signed in at the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, North Carolina) for the 12th annual World Finals. Competing in a round of qualifying, Benedum registered the 25th fastest time in his group locking him into the 9th-starting position for his heat race on Friday.

Jumping up two spots, Mike registered a 7th place finish transferring him into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Needing to place 2nd or better, Benedum fell short with an 8th place outing.

Returning on Saturday night, Benedum came in 24th fastest in his group before placing 7th in his heat race. Transferring the Top 2 out of the B-Main into the $12,000-to-win finale, Mike fell back to a 16th place outing after get caught behind a wreck on the opening lap.
