Benedum visits Beckley for Southern Nationals opener

Mike Benedum debuted with the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals on Friday afternoon as the 12-race tour kicked off at Beckley Motor Speedway (Beckley, W.Va.).

Following a fifth-place finish in his heat, Mike edged his way into the $10,053-to-win A-Main with a second-place outing in his B-Main. Starting in 19th, Benedum clawed forward one spot in the 53-lap affair to finish 18th.
