Benedum scores Top-5 finish in Chasing the Dream feature at Eldora

With the 66-car field divided into three groups, Benedum clocked in fourth-fastest in his group, locking him on the pole for his prelim via the invert. With $5,000 on the line, Mike raced to a fifth-place finish, which came behind Mike Marlar, Chase Junghans, Garrett Smith, and Joseph Joiner.
For a pair of $12,000-to-win prelims on Thursday, Mike missed a transfer spot in his heat race and B-Main, ending his night early.
On Friday evening, Benedum edged his way into his $12,000-to-win preliminary feature with the fifth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. Dropping one spot in the 25-lap affair, Mike crossed the line in 21st.
Earning the seventh-starting position for his heat race on Saturday via preliminary points from Thursday and Friday, Mike recorded a seventh-place finish, relegating him into a B-Main for one final shot at the $55,000-to-win World 100. Pinned near the tail, Benedum jumped up five spots in the 20-lapper to finish 14th.Back to News
