Mike Benedum opens 2024 with Sunshine Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park
Mike Benedum kicked off his 2024 season on Friday afternoon with a trip to Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) for the DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals opener after Thursday's event fell to heavy rain storms.
In a stacked field of 56 World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series entries, Benedum qualified 16th-quickest in his group and finished seventh in his heat race before dealing with electrical issues that ultimately ended his night.
Hoping for better luck on Saturday, Mike once again dealt with mechanical issues and was unable to start his Last Chance Showdown.
