Mike Benedum follows Spring Nationals to Volunteer State

Planning to run for points with the tour, Mike Benedum joined the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) on Friday and Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway on Saturday for a doubleheader weekend.

With 40 Late Models checked in for night one, Benedum grabbed a transfer spot in his heat race and finished just outside the Top-10 in the 53-lap, $10,053-to-win feature in 12th.

The following night, Mike was an early retiree from the 75-lap marathon at Tazewell and recorded an 18th-place finish.

Benedum is currently sixth in the series point standings.
